How many Lord of the Rings films are there?

There are five Lord of the Rings Movies including the animations:

  • The Lord of the Rings by Ralph Bakshi (1978)
  • The Return of the King by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin Jr (1980)
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by Peter Jackson (2001)
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by Peter Jackson (2002)
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by Peter Jackson (2003)

As a personal opinion, the movies made by Peter Jackson are way much better than the first two. Those ones are animations.

If you haven’t seen the trilogy yet, this is the best time to start! I recommend watching ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy first and the LOTR trilogy afterwards.
